Hello friends!
It's been forever since I last posted here on my blog... for the last few months I have had very painful swelling in my finger joints, and have been taking some time off from sculpting to rest them, try some new ways to reduce the inflammation in my body, start a new exercise regime, get healthy blah blah etc. etc. etc. lol. Anyway, I have not been completely idle... and have very slowly managed to complete a large (compared to most of my work) ball jointed doll, hoping to get it out before Halloween. so, a quick little peek at a witch I've been working on.. she just under 10" tall. Her costume is very gothic lolita.. personally, I like the look better without the wings, but so many people like fairies, that I made removable ones that slide into the rear laces of her corset. The sewing on the costume took longer than the actual sculpting process.... I am by no means a skilled seamstress, and sewing such tiny clothing is a challenge for me. The boots were a blast to make, with tiny realistic tread on the bottoms. I'll have some better pictures up in a few days, that show all of the costuming details, these photos are rather flat I'm afraid. I decided to attach the hair on this particular doll, but I do have a headband with removable bangs, so she can have a bit of a different look.
I am not giving up miniatures though.... and in a few weeks I will be starting some hanging ornaments for the holiday season... I would like to have more of those finished then the past two years, so check back soon to see what is available!
****update.... I am giving her permanent bangs, it is decided.... to remove the headband again and again will eventually muss the hair, and she looks cuter with them than without. ****
***second update**** more pictures and she is up for auction.. I will consider any serious offers, so don't let the asking price put you off lol... try me!
